Mission Statement

     The Columbiana County Land Use Task Force Plan will be developed and maintained through a process of countywide community involvement. The plan will reflect community values and expectations for orderly land use demonstrating good stewardship. The plan will maintain the unique history, culture and characteristics of Columbiana County. It will support economic growth through appropriate location of infrastructure while protecting the natural environment. It will preserve agricultural and green areas as well as support sustainable residential and commercial development.

Vision Statement

     Columbiana County will be a county comprised of diverse and thriving communities, productive farms, prosperous industrial, commercial and residential areas, and natural resources through a land use plan that will:

۰ Make Columbiana County a desirable place to live, work and visit.
۰ Encourage a community that respects and cherishes our cultural, religious, and socioeconomic diversities by all generations.
۰ Embrace the various types of farms within our community as viable and desirable resources while recognizing the value and importance of land resources.
۰ Oversee structured growth of the communities infrastructures that will result in a sustainable industrial, commercial, educational, cultural and social environment for our families.
۰ Preserve our rivers, streams, lakes, forests and open spaces for our enjoyment and the protection of the environment.
۰ Provide direction to help us maintain and grow a prosperous economy, be it industrial, commercial, travel, or tourism.
۰ Ensure a safe and healthy environment, with with effective public utilities and services for all citizens who live, work or visit Columbiana County.
